Materials needed to sew the wrap ✂️
- 2 meters of Katia Fabrics Purest line 100% organic cotton muslin fabric ⬇️
- 2 metals rings specifically designed for babywearing
- Universal needle (size: 70/80)
- Polyester thread
- Scissors
- Tape measure
- Tailor’s chalk or fabric pen
- Iron
- Sewing machine
- Rolled hem presser foot (optional)
Recommendations
Before starting, wash the fabric on a short cold cycle, let it air-dry and iron it at a low-medium heat. This ensures that the fabric does not shrink and makes cutting and sewing the fabric easier.
Step-by-step instructions for sewing the baby wrap carrier 👶✨
- Cut a piece of cotton muslin measuring 2 meters long x 75 cm wide and sew a zigzag stitch around all the edges to prevent the fabric from fraying.
- Make a narrow hem along both long sides and one of the short sides (you can use the rolled hem presser foot).
- On the other short side, press a hem measuring 1.5 cm wide.
- Measure 30 cm from the edge and mark a line.
- Insert the end through the rings and fold the fabric until the marked line.
- Pin into place and sew three parallel lines of stitching to reinforce the seam.
- Softly press the entire piece to remove any marks and your wrap is ready to wear!
