
Crochet Bear and Cat glasses holder for adults and children

Do you dare to make this on-trend crochet accessory? Here is the free pattern to make a crochet glasses holder with Bear or Cat ears, for both adults and children. Both designs have been created by Les Récréasab using Katia United Cotton yarn. A fun and easy project to gift or make for yourself. Follow the step-by-step instructions and create an adorable glasses holder!
Bear and Cat glasses holder crochet pattern
- Bear version for adults: 20 cm long x 10 cm wide (without including the ears) x 2 cm high.
- Cat version for kids: 15.5 cm long x 9 cm wide (without including the ears) x 2 cm high.
Materials
For the Bear (Adults)
- 2 balls of Katia United Cotton in color 11 (pale brown) for the base and ears (approx. 65 m)
- 1 ball of Katia United Cotton in color 1 (white) for the snout (approx. 2.50 m)
- 1 ball of Katia United Cotton in color 2 (black) to embroider the mouth (approx. 40 cm)
- 10-mm safety eyes (or embroider in black)
- Black safety nose (or embroidered)
For the Cat version (Kids)
- 1 ball of Katia United Cotton in color 28 (makeup) for the base and ears
- 1 ball of Katia United Cotton in color 27 (rose) for the ear details (approx. 40 cm)
- 1 ball of Katia United Cotton in color 2 (black) to embroider the whiskers (approx. 40 cm)
- 8-mm safety eyes (or embroider in black)
- Pink safety nose (or embroidered)

TIP: Use stitch markers to avoid mistakes
Place a stitch marker at:
- The beginning of the round to follow the spiral pattern.
- Increase at the ends to maintain the oval shape: mark the first and last stitch of the increases.
- When placing the ears, make sure they are aligned.
Stitches and abbreviations
- ch = chain
- sl st = slip stitch
- sc = single crochet
- inc = increase (sc2 into the same st)
- dec = invisible decrease

Bear glasses holder
Oval base
Work in a spiral, without closing rounds.
- sc1 into each stitch, except at the ends.
- increase at the ends to create the oval shape.
Chain 26 stitches in the main color.

Continue increasing following this sequence:
- R1: sc24, work 3 stitches into the first ch stitch, sc23, inc2. [52 sts]
- R2: inc1, sc23, inc3, sc23, inc2. [58 sts]
- R3: sc1, inc1, sc23, (sc1, inc1) x3, sc23, (sc1, inc1) x2. [64 sts]
- R4: sc2, inc1, sc23, (sc2, inc1) x3, sc23, (sc2, inc1) x2. [70 sts]
- R5: sc3, inc1, sc23, (sc3, inc1) x3, sc23, (sc3, inc1) x2. [76 sts]
- R6: sc4, inc1, sc23, (sc4, inc1) x3, sc23, (sc4, inc1) x2. [82 sts]

Work 4 rounds without increases.
Bind off and weave in all ends.

Bear ears
1. Sc6 into a magic ring.
2. Increase in each stitch. [12 sts]
3. (Sc1, inc1) x6. [18 sts]
4. Rounds 4-6: sc18 in each round.
5. (Sc1, dec1) x6. [12 sts]
6. Cut yarn leaving a 40-cm tail for sewing.
7. Make another ear the same and sew them centered at the top of the base.

Snout and details
1. Ch and sc4.
2. Work in a spiral around the starting chain:
- sc1 in each stitch and increase at the ends to create the oval shape.
3. Embroider the mouth in black with needle and thread.
4. Sew the snout in the middle of the base.
5. Attach or embroider the eyes in black, placing them on rounds 2 and 3, 5 stitches from the side increases.
6. Attach or embroider the black nose on the snout.

Cat glasses holder
Oval base
Work in a spiral, without closing rounds.
- sc1 into each stitch, except at the ends.
- increase at the ends to create the oval shape.
Chain 21 stitches in the main color.
Continue increasing following this sequence:
- R1: sc19, work 3 stitches into the first ch stitch, sc18, inc1. [42 sts]

Cat ears
1. Sc4 into a magic ring.
2. (Sc1, inc1) x2. [6 sts]
3. (Sc1, inc1) x3. [9 sts]
4. (Sc2, inc1) x3. [12 sts]
5. (Sc3, inc1) x3. [15 sts]
6. (Sc4, inc1) x3. [18 sts]
7. (Sc8, inc1) x2. [20 sts]
8. Sc3 and sl st1 to give it a pointy shape.
9. Cut yarn leaving a 40-cm tail for sewing.
10. Make another ear the same and sew them centered at the top of the base, with 10 stitches in between them.

Snout and details
1. Attach or embroider the eyes in black, placing them on rounds 2 and 3, 5 stitches from the side increases.
2. Attach or embroider the pink nose in the center of the base, on round 6.
3. Embroider the whiskers in black, making three lines on each side.
4. Embroider the ear details with pink yarn.
5. Weave in all ends and adjust the shape of the glasses holder.
