- 2 strips of fabric measuring 6 x 15 cm (short handles)

- Thin fusible interfacing (optional, to add more body)
- Matching thread, scissors, pins, and sewing machine

Step-by-step instructions to sew your cake carrier
A practical accessory that is easy to make, perfect as a gift or to carry desserts in style. In just a few steps, you’ll have a long-lasting and reusable cake carrier.
Get to work! ✂️💪
1️⃣ Cut the fabric pieces according to the indicated measurements. If you want to add body to the carrier, iron fusible interfacing onto the canvas.

2️⃣ Prepare the handles: fold 1 cm along each long edge of the strips of fabric and then fold them in half. Press well and sew along both long sides with a decorative straight stitch for a better finish.

3️⃣ Place the handles: pin the short handles on two opposite corners, 4 cm from each edge. Attach the long handle on the remaining corners, making sure that the ends are correctly positioned.

4️⃣ Join the fabrics: place both pieces of fabric with right sides facing each other, with the handles inside. Sew all around, leaving a 20-cm opening to turn the piece right side out. Since the long handle doesn’t reach from one corner to the other, sew one end first and, once attached, pin the other end in place before seaming.

5️⃣ Turn, press, and reinforce: turn the piece right side out and press the edges well. Seam the opening closed on your machine. Reinforce with a decorative stitch around the entire edge.
