How to sew a matte vinyl pencil case
Materials you need:
- Matte vinyl in your favorite color. At Katia Fabrics you have 5 colors to choose
- Free sewing pattern
- 25-cm zipper
- Thread
- Scissors
- Sewing machine
Steps to sew your vinyl pencil case:
1. Prepare the material:
- Cut two pieces of vinyl measuring 15 cm x 30 cm
- Cut two pieces measuring 2 cm x 6 cm
2. Sew the zipper:
- Place one piece of vinyl with the right side up and on top of the zipper with the right side down. Hold with clips and sew along the edge using your sewing machine’s zipper foot.
- Sew a running stitch along the right side.
- Repeat the process with the other piece of vinyl.
- Finally, place the zipper slider.
3. Join the case pieces:
- Open the zipper halfway and place the vinyl pieces with right sides facing each other. Sew along the sides and the bottom.
- Next, close the 4 corners. For a cleaner finish, you can add bias tape.
- Patiently turn the case right side out through the opening.
- And voilĂ ! Your matte vinyl box pencil case is ready to use.
