How to sew tablecloths and napkins with perfect corners

Materials you need ✂️
- Fabrics from the Katia Fabrics Christmas collection (cotton canvas)
- Pins
- Scissors
- Iron
- Sewing machine
- Thread
- Ruler or tape measure
- Fabric marker or tailor’s chalk
Step-by-step instructions to sew perfect corners 📋
1. Cut the fabric to the desired tablecloth or napkin dimensions. Make sure the edges are straight and well lined up.
2. Press the folds: fold the edge of the fabric in 1 cm and fold again 2 cm from the first fold. Press the folds well with an iron.
3. Prepare the corners: unfold the folds you’ve pressed. Mark the point where the fold lines cross, which will be the reference point for the center of the corner.
4. Form the triangle: with the first fold done (1 cm), bring the corner to the marked point, forming a triangle. Mark on either side of the triangle, right on the edge where the fold starts.
5. Sew the corners: on the right side of the fabric, make the side markings coincide and pin them. Sew from the marks toward the center point that you marked previously.
6. Cut the excess fabric close to the seam, to cut the bulk out and for the corner to look nice and clean.
7. Turn the corner to the right side of the fabric and turn all the corners well.
8. Sew the edge: fold the pressed folds again and sew a straight seam along the entire edge of the tablecloth or napkin.
9. Press the edges and corners for an impeccable and professional finish.
