Recommendations and useful information for your knitting project
- The pattern is available for ages 1 to 24 months
- The yarn measurements given depend on the age/size of the baby. Apply the size guide below as a reference
- For this piece both yarns (Easy Knit Cotton and Louvre) should be double stranded
- Start with the front (and the heart) and continue onto the back

The materials you will need to complete this project are:
- Easy Knit Cotton in any color. Balls of yarn: a) 1 b) 2 c) 2 d) 3
- Louvre in any color. Balls of yarn: a), b), c), d) 1 ball
- 5.5 mm straight knitting needles
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors
Instructions
- First, knit the baby romper seamlessly from the front with the heart to the back.
- Next, fold in half and join the sides.
- Lastly, make the straps.
Cast-on
Cast on a) 17, b) 21, c) 27, d) 33 sts double-stranded.
Rs a) 1-136, b) 1-144, c) 1-156, d) 1-168: knit all sts and rs as stated in chart a), b), c), d).

Bind off all sts as they appear.
Straps
Cut 6 lengths of Katia Easy Knit Cotton color 20 (blue) and Louvre by Concept by Katia color 80 (blue) held together measuring a) 70, b) 80, c) 100, d) 120 cm.
Join 3 lengths folded in half on each side of the rib at the back. Once attached, make a braid, and finish off with a knot.
Assembly and finishing touches
Next, fold the piece in half along the crotch. Join the sides with side seam along the area indicated in chart a), b), c), d).
Finally, weave in the loose ends and block the piece.
Stitches and techniques
1×1 rib
R1: *k1, p1*, rep ** to end of R.
R2 and following rs: k the knits and p the purls.
Stockinette stitch
R1: k (odd rs).
R2: p (even rs). Always repeat these 2 Rs.
Reverse stockinette stitch
R1: p (odd rs).
R2: k (even rs). Always repeat these 2 Rs.
Make 1 right – M1R
Pick up the strand between 2 sts, place on the left-hand needle from front to back, and knit through the front loop.
Make 1 left – M1L
Pick up the strand between 2 sts, place on the left-hand needle from back to front, and knit through the back loop.
Left-leaning decrease – k2tog
Knit 2 sts together.
Right-leaning decrease – ssk
Slip 1 st knitwise, slip another st knitwise, insert the left-hand needle through the front loops and knit them together.
Yarn over – yo
Bring the yarn in front, pull it over the right-hand needle.
Side seam or grafting
Place both pieces side by side, with the right side of the work facing up. Pass the needle through the strand between the first and second stitch and pull the yarn, pass through the other piece, and do the same. Repeat joining both pieces until the end of the seam.
