  • ch chain
  • dc double crochet

BABY CHICK BASKET:

Basket (x1) With L hook and Big Ribbon:

Round 1. Make 6 sc in a magic ring

Round 2. Inc in each st around. 12 sts

Round 3. [Sc, inc] around. 18 sts

Round 4. [Sc in next 2 sts, inc] around. 24 sts

Round 5. [Sc in next 3 sts, inc] around. 30 sts

Round 6. [Sc in next 4 sts, inc] around. 36 sts

Round 7. [Sc in next 5 sts, inc] around. 42 sts

Round 8. [Sc in next 6 sts, inc] around. 48 sts

Round 9. Sc-blo in each st around. 48 sts

Rounds 10-14. Sc in each st around. 48 sts

Round 15. Sl st in each st around. 48 sts

At the end of the last round, fasten off.

 

Beak (x1) With C hook and Fair Cotton:

Round 1. Make 6 sc in a magic ring

Round 2. Sc in each st around. 6 sts

Round 3. Inc in each st around. 12 sts

Round 4. Sc in each st around. 12 sts

Round 5. [Sc, inc] around. 18 sts

Round 6. Sc in each st around. 18 sts

Round 7. [Sc in next 2 sts, inc] around. 24 sts

Round 8. Sc in each st around, sl st in 1st st. 24 sts

At the end of the last round, fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing.

 

Wing (x2) With C hook and Fair Cotton:

Round 1. Make 6 sc in a magic ring

Round 2. Inc in each st around. 12 sts

Round 3. (Sc, hdc, dc) in 1st st, ch 2, (dc, hdc, sc) in next st, sl st in next, leave remaining sts unworked. 6 sts. 

At the end of the last round, fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing.

 

Assembly:

  1. Handle: Join Big Ribbon in 12th st on the basket, ch 20, sc in 36th st on the basket, turn. Sc in 35th st on the basket, sc in 20 chs, sc in 13th st on the basket. Fasten off.
  2. Sew wings on either side of the basket, near the handle.
  3. Fold beak and sew to the front of the basket.
  4. Weave all ends in.
  5. Collect all the Easter eggs!

Round 8. [Sc in next 6 sts, inc] around. 48 sts

Round 15. Sc in next 15 sts.

* Make the first ear: sc in next st, ch 8. Starting in 2nd ch from hook, tr in next 3 chs, dc in next 2, hdc in last 2, sc in same st as first sc of 1st ear. Sc in next 6 sts.

* Make the second ear: sc in next st, ch 8. Starting in 2nd ch from hook, tr in next 3 chs, dc in next 2, hdc in last 2, sc in same st as first sc of 2nd ear. Sc in next 25 sts. 80 sts

Round 16. Sl st in each st around. 80 sts

At the end of the last round, fasten off.

 

Bow tie (x1) With C hook and Fair Cotton:

Ch 22 to start

Row 1. Starting in the 3rd ch, dc in each st across, turn. 20 sts

Row 2. Ch 2, dc in each st across. 20 sts

Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing.

Wrap a length of yarn around the middle of the rectangle to make a bow tie.

 

Assembly

  1. Handle: Join Big Ribbon in 10th st on the basket, ch 20, sc in 38th st on the basket, turn. Sc in 37th st on the basket, sc in 20 chs, sc in 11th st on the basket. Fasten off.
  2. Sew bow tie to the front of the basket.
  3. Make a small pompom using Big Ribbon and attach to the back of the basket
  4. Collect all the Easter eggs!
