How to Make Knitted Jacquard Socks (FREE Pattern)

Learn how to make your very own pair of jacquard socks with this free video tutorial and pattern. We will walk you through all the steps so you can create multiple pairs of socks. Feel free to mix and match colors to make different combinations.
The materials you will need to complete this project are:
- Lime Green #20 (A) - 2 balls
- Cream #5 (B) - 1 ball
- Green Blue #23 (C) - 1 ball
- Water Blue #24 (D) - 1 ball
Knitting Needles Size: 2.5mm (US 1.5â)/80cm (32â)
Stitches used:
- Purl
- Knit
- Slip Stitch
- Purl 2 together
Recommendations and useful information for your knitted socks
- Leg chart is read from bottom to top and right to left - all rounds are worked in the knit stitch.
- When changing colors, cut the thread that you are not going to use anymore and insert the new one.
- The magic loop consists of 2 parts - the stitches of one needle and the stitches of the other.
Knitted Jacquard Socks Pattern
Cast of 66 stitches.
Place stitches in the middle of the cable, count 33 stitches and fold the cable, leaving 33 stitches on both sides.
Work in a magic loop, making sure the needle with the thread is on top and the cast is on the bottom, facing down, in the same direction.
- Sock Cuff
Round 1: (1x1 rib) knit 1, purl 1.
Repeat Round 1 until you have 5cm of ribbing.
- Leg
Following color chart for leg.
Rounds 1-2: Knit around.
Round 3: Knit 1 stitch in contrast color, knit 2 stitches in main color.
Round 4: Knit 2 stitches in contrast color, knit 1 in main color.
Continue following chart to the end.
- Heel
Row 1: Knit 33 stitches, slip a stitch, knit to the end of the round, turn work.
Row 2: Slip a stitch, purl until you reach previously slipped st, turn work.
Repeat Rows 1-2 15 times total. 15 stitches remain on each side of the heel.
Row 3: To pick up the side stitches, slip 1 stitch without knitting, knit 18 stitches, slip 1 stitch, knit 1, pass slip stitch over, purl the last stitch, turn work.
Row 4 (WS): Slip a stitch, purl 6 stitches, purl 2 stitches together, purl 1 and turn work.
Row 5 (RS): Slip a stitch, knit 7, slip 1 stitch, knit 1, pass slip stitch over, knit 1, turn work.
Row 6 (WS): Slip a stitch, purl 8, purl 2 stitches together, purl 1, turn work.
Row 7 (RS): Slip a stitch, knit 9, slip 1 stitch, knit 1, pass slip stitch over, knit 1, turn work.
Row 8 (WS): Slip 1 stitch, purl 10, purl 2 stitches together, turn work.
Row 9 (RS): Slip 1 stitch, knit 11, slip 1 stitch, knit 1, pass slip stitch over, knit 1, turn work.
Row 10 (WS): Slip 1 stitch, purl 12, purl 2 stitches together, purl 1 stitch, turn work.
Row 11 (RS): Slip 1 stitch, knit 13, slip 1 stitch, knit 1, pass slip stitch over, knit 1, turn work.
Row 12 (WS): Slip 1 stitch, purl 14, purl 2 stitches together, purl 1 stitch, turn work.
Row 13 (RS): Slip 1 stitch, knit 15, slip 1 stitch, knit 1, pass slip stitch over, knit 1, turn work.
Row 14 (WS): Slip 1 stitch, purl 16, purl 2 stitches together, purl 1 stitch, turn work.
Row 15 (RS): Slip 1 stitch, knit 17, slip 1 stitch, knit 1, pass slip stitch over, knit 1, turn work.
Row 16 (WS): Slip 1 stitch, purl 18, purl 2 stitches together (19 stitches remain on the needle)
- For the foot
Round 1: Knit the 19 stitches, pick up and knit 16 stitches on the side of the heel, work 33 stitches for the first half of the round, place 1 marker and pick up the next 16 stitches on the other side of the heel, begin decrease, knit up to 2 stitches before marker, knit 2 stitches together, knit 33 stitches, slip marker, slip 1 stitch, knit 1, pass slip stitch over, knit to marker.
Round 2: Knit to 3 stitches before marker, knit 2 stitches together, knit 1 and slip marker, on the instep knit 33 stitches, slip marker, knit 1, slip 1 stitch, knit 1, pass slip stitch over, knit until next marker.
Round 3: Knit all the stitches.
Repeat rounds 2 and 3 until you have a total of 66 stitches on both needles.
- Foot chart:
Following the chart until all rounds have been worked.
- Toe
Round 1 (dec): Continue with light blue color, knit 1, slip 1 st, knit 1, pass slip stitch over, knit across to last 2 stitches, knit 2 together, work the same for the second half of the round.
Repeat Round 1 until you have 11 stitches left on each side of the needle.
Bind off remaining stitches using kitchener stitch.
You now have your very own pair of unique jacquard socks that you will enjoy wearing over and over again!
